Lost in the Santa Cruz Mountains
Wintertime 1908 Winter Time 2008 Rivertime Wintertime Everytime. Muddy mountain water going 10 miles to rivermouth to make those dandy sand-bars right off the point at the beach going left and right and washing down the coast to fill up the yacht harbor and build up off the jetty and make those hot harbor shacks.

ACEO
Every ACEO I sell is matted.
I shrink wrap them because it protects them,
but also, the wrap resembles glass at a tiny scale.
Matted and shrinkwrapped, they are just very, very pretty.
I keep my ACEO's in a basket.
For display, I make tiny easles.
An easle can be quickly and simply made
using chopsticks and white glue.

Aceo's are inexpensive, making art collecting
more accessable.
There are more than 15,000 ACEO's for sale on the internet.

Floating Trees
I hope you will click on this picture and get the large
version. You can see the detail in this tiny painting.
Colors still not right though.
Aceo 2.5 inch by 3.5 inch
Watercolor under laquer
These very trees do very float above the San Lorenzo River, on a cliff, and hang into the sky, just like the picture. Bay trees. Poison oak below.
With this painting, and all the rest too, but especially this one,
you just can't even see it here. The details of the tiny leaves is simply escaped with the missing
pixels.

Steinbeck Country...
East of Eden......Indeed, the hot central valley has the beauty that Californians love so much. The heat, the earth colors, the "The rollin golden hills of California" as Utah Phillips put it in his song. There is something here in nothingness and heat that feels good to the bone.
